- Dr. Damdoar Adhikari is a governance specialist. Currently, he has been working as a Deputy Team Leader at the Health Sector Reform Support Porgramme (www.hsrsp.org) funded by DfID, UK and managed by the Research Triangle Institute (RTI) – International (www.rti.org). Dr. Adhikari provides policy and strategic support to the Ministry of Health and Population, Government of Nepal in the areas of decentralization, public-private partnership, social inclusion, and health planning and sector management. Before joining health sector, he worked as a Deputy Team Leader for a CIDA funded project (2002-2006) aiming to strengthen environmental governance in Nepal, and with the Government of Nepal. While working with the government of Nepal, he designed decentralization and local planning frameworks and facilitated the decentralization process. For more than 2 decades, he contributed in shaping the local governance system in the country.
