How to Contribute to IHP+ Results by Email

There is a great way to follow the IHP+ Results process without going through the North-South Observatory. You can comment on existing documents or contribute to ongoing discussions using your email: read instructions on how to contribute to existing content.  Or you can add new content: create your own documents, discussions and blogs by email.

Adding new content


It is really easy to add new documents, discussions and blogs.  Just follow these simple steps:


  1. Open a new email from the email address you registered when you signed up (if you still need to sign up, please follow this link).

  2. Write the title of your document, discussion or blog in the subject of your email.

  3. Write the content of your document, discussion or blog in the body of your email.

  4. If you want to send an attachment, make sure you explain in the body text of your email what the document says and why it's of interest to the IHP+ Results process.

  5. Send whatever you want to add to the Observatory in an email to one of the following email addresses:


Create Discussion:  discussions-community-ihp@network.human-scale.net

Create Document:   documents-community-ihp@network.human-scale.net

To create a blog post for a group please send it to one of the group email addresses provided here.


You can also add discussions or blog posts (but not documents), to a specific IHP+ country, agency or Results Area.  To do this, instead of using one of the email addresses above, you need to use email addresses which are specific for each IHP+ country or results area.   A full list is included here.



Contributing to existing content


You can also use your email to contribute to existing discussions and blogs, or comment on existing documents - just follow these simple steps:


  1. Sign up to receive email notifications on that document (see here for information on how to do this). If you have not signed up to receive email notifications you cannot email comments into a document, discussion or blog.

  2. Once you have completed Step 1, you can contribute to/comment on documents, discussions and blogs by simply replying to the notification emails that you will receive whenever a change is made to any document that you are "watching".

  3. In some cases, you may already be "watching" a document (where you created it, or where you have previously commented on it).  In this case, the actions pane will display a link to "stop email notifications".
